Now you must have heard everybody talking about heir mind, body and emotions, discussing about them at length, but have you ever heard someone talking about how to train and use the spiritual powers of your which in fact are the source of origin for the remaining bodies. The reason why people don’t talk about it is that they have never spend any time without feeling free from the worries and needs of their mind, body and emotions. For them their existence and survival depends upon how they could take care of these bodies which they feel , experience and bother them moment to moment. But they remain ignorant about the fact that these bodies are troubling them because the underlying body which is the foundation of these bodies is totally ignored and never taken care of. But how does one communicate with something which is so subtle and not experienced as strongly as other bodies? What is the training for developing ones spiritual powers?
Before I proceed let me make this one point clear where there is very much ignorance and misunderstanding prevailing. You have to remember and beware of the fact the truth, that your spiritual body is just like any other bodies you have, physical, mental and emotional. You are the possessor and master of these bodies, you are subtler than the subtlest, stronger than the strongest. You are neither physical, mental, emotional or spiritual being, you are just a “natural” being , having possession over these seen and unseen bodies and energies. You are beyond the seen and unseen, known and unknown. It is very important to first have an glimpse of the reality who you are before you take on the spiritual training .It provides your body, mind and emotions some confidence and clarity of what has to done and who is the one who will get the things done. Only when you acknowledge the fact and truth who you are, can you start with your so called spiritual training, else there are lots of spiritual seeker, who just go round and round, confused and feeling defeated, since they really don’t have the right kind of knowledge and training regarding their spiritual pursuit. How can you be at some place without having any idea of what that place is like? Any journey, whether outer or inwards requires oneself to first be clear of what one has to become and achieve. Though the inward journey is more on undoing and un-becoming, then too it is important that when one comes to the goal and destination, he/she knows what it is, and gets one with the goal. This might sound a bit difficult to grasp on intellectual level, but over a period of time, you would have gone beyond the intellectual reasoning, and your intuition itself will point you out when you have become yourself.
Now lets proceed with how to train your spiritual body. The principle of training your spiritual body is same as principle of training any of the other bodies, physical, mental and emotional. Personally speaking from my own experience as a fitness trainer and then a yoga teacher, I have always used this principle to train the muscle of my spirit and the result initially was more and more clarity and deep peace within me. That principle is the principle of overload, and to discuss it, lets take the example of your physical body. Now every body know that if we push our physical body beyond its normal potential of strength an power it responds to that stimulus, making the muscle and bones stronger, provided that there is regular exercise happening, which will stress your body in a controlled way. Same way is with your spiritual muscle, the only difference is that in spiritual training the resistance is not outside the body, but inside you, i.e. your own mind and emotions, and the improvement of the spiritual training is measured in terms of the peace and lightness felt on all three bodies, i.e. physical, me natal and emotional that slowly grows within when you get more and more detached with them.
The more you start getting detached the more comfortable you become with your own mind and emotions and more peace and lightness you experience. Ultimately the detachment increases so much that you are able to see yourself as someone who is not his mind, body and emotions and an amazing sense of bodylessnes and ecstasy is felt . And this spiritual training continues all the time throughout the day, when you are interacting with others and especially with yourself.
Like any other training, spirituals training also requires some rest and proper nutrition , so that you could get optimal result from it. If not I could leads to frustration and disappointment as experience by many spiritual seekers. This rest and nutrition for your spiritual muscle come from mediation( done at least for ten minutes) and then using the your discrimination and intellect to review how your mind and emotions influenced your state of peace and happiness. There should be some time kept aside where you contemplate how your mind and emotions have been conditioned by society, people, ,religion yourself etc., and how your behavior and thoughts are actually totally dependant on that conditionings. It is this conditioning that has to be removed and let go off, so that you could see yourself as you are without any perspective and subjective view of your feelings and thoughts force you to believe. The spiritual training should take you to a sage where you now that your are not your mind and emotions and neither their thoughts and feelings. This should act as a motivation and your quest to become you will intensify more.
